Chama Coaling Tower and Sandhouse in "O" Scale
Standing over 16" tall with a footprint of 7" by 26", these models of the Chama Coaling Tower and Sandhouse represent the structures in a well maintained state, based on photos and drawings of the actual structures still standing in Chama, New Mexico.

Constructed of scale dimensional basswood lumber and milled sheetstock, with Grandt Line castings, slightly weathered to show years of exposure to the elements, with some rust here and there.

With the model shown at the left, every detail is modelled, excepting the coal delivery tracks and hoppers on this example, as the commision was for a limited-depth space, where the models are up against the layout backdrop. As such some of the rear details were omitted as they cannot be seen.

See the
"Current Projects" page for other versions of this spectacular structure. These were based on new drawings recently discovered of the actual coaling towers, and are much more accurate. We do have ONE in stock. Please enquire for pricing and delivery dates for custom versions. Click on the photo to see more of this stunning model, as well as, photos of the prototype structures. Yes, we can and do ship these awesome models!
