Chama Coaling Tower and Sandhouse in "O" Scale

Standing over 16" tall with a footprint of 7" wide by 6" deep, the Coaling Tower is modelled after the real thing as it exists in Chama, New Mexico, colours and condition of the structure based on the photo on the left. There were 3 or more of these structures on the D&RGW, built identically, but modified slightly over the years. The Sandhouse measures 15.5" wide by 6" deep by 8" tall.

Constructed of scale dimensional basswood lumber and milled sheetstock, with Grandt Line castings, slightly weathered to show years of exposure to the elements, with some rust here and there.

Every detail is modelled here, excepting the coal delivery tracks and hoppers, as this commision was for a limited-depth space, where the models are up against the layout backdrop. Once these models have been mounted on the owner's layout, I'll post some photos of them in place.
